Setting Free the Bears by John Irving
I like this guy. He writes weird shit novels about people being crazy where parents die a lot in tragic circumstances and people get shot for no reason and the novels just power through with no time for grieving. It’s very realistic. And his prose is good. And he’s full of awesome ideas. Setting Free the Bears took me ages to get through however. It is written in quite short chapters and the first part didn’t grip me until near the end of it, unlike the second part, which was awesome all the way through.
